Port access, the two central shops, market, and art-centre information were checked August 1, 2026. The outer-quay pin is digitized from the port layout; follow ship and port signs for the exact passenger route.
Get the free PDF guide ↓Allow about 3 to 5.5 hours. You'll travel by walk from the public port exit, with a short taxi option and keep the final 75 minutes free for the return to your ship.
Check your ship's daily program before you go ashore. Your terminal can change how long it takes to reach the first shop.
The passenger terminal facing Avenida de Anaga
walk: Allow 20–30 minutes to Labores El Escudo
Follow the signed passenger path out of the port, then continue through the central street grid.
taxi: Allow 8–15 minutes to either shop
A short taxi is useful in strong sun or when the gangway is far from the terminal exit.
Your walk begins at the public port exit, not at the ship. Internal port transport can add time.
The long outer cruise quay south of the passenger terminal
shuttle: Allow 25–40 minutes to Labores El Escudo
Use any internal shuttle provided for your ship, then walk from the public port exit.
taxi: Allow 10–20 minutes after leaving the secure quay
Ask port staff where taxis meet your ship; pickup arrangements can differ along this quay.
This pin is digitized from the port layout and may not match your exact gangway. Follow the day's passenger signs.
Check whether the ship provides an internal port shuttle. If the gangway location is still unclear, use the Muelle Sur allowance and start the city walk only after reaching the public port exit.
Port connection and walk
The time depends on your gangway and whether the port provides an internal shuttle.
Walk
Both are in the central grid; check opening hours before leaving the ship.

Walk through the central shopping streets, visit the closer yarn and notions shops, then browse the city market before turning back.
Allow 3h 58m–5h 45m, including the time set aside to get back to your ship.
Add the art centre beside the market when its exhibitions and the shops' opening hours line up.

A two-level city market with produce, prepared food, and a central courtyard. Morning offers the fullest choice of stalls.
Check current visitor informationAllow 60–90 minutes
A contemporary-art centre beside the market with changing exhibitions and cinema programming.
Check current visitor informationVisit the open shop, then enjoy the market and TEA. Do not spend the port day searching residential streets for another option.
Take a taxi from the passenger exit to the shops, spend more time indoors at TEA, and taxi back to the port entrance.
Choose Labores El Escudo and the market, then turn back. Skip the second shop and museum.
Enter your email and we'll send the two-page PDF. You can download it here right away too.
Your ship's daily program and each shop's latest notice take precedence if a berth, timetable, or opening hour changes.
1 yarn shop and 1 craft or textile stop to explore. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a practical Canary Islands yarn-and-notions stop when the ship schedule leaves enough city time. The strongest stops are in the city center, but berth assignment and port exit routing can change whether this feels walkable.

These are options for getting around Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Santa Cruz cruise terminal
Use the port authority source to confirm cruise terminal context.
A short-transfer Atlantic Europe port with one of the clearest yarn-shop anchors in the region.
A major Mediterranean gateway where the remaining yarn shop needs a taxi or a carefully planned long call.
A flagship Mediterranean yarn route from the cruise bus or taxi drop-off into the city.
A Greek embarkation or long-call yarn errand where the shops are in Athens, not beside the pier.
