Winding the yarn map...
A Greek embarkation or long-call yarn errand where the shops are in Athens, not beside the pier.
The listed shops are in Athens, not beside the Piraeus piers. Kangaroo Craft is on Kolokotroni; Yarns.gr is in Nea Ionia. Treat either as a city trip with a return plan, rather than a quick walk from the ship.

Piraeus terminals, the 2026 X80 service, shops, and visitor information were checked August 1, 2026. Terminal coordinates are digitized from the port area and should be read as orientation pins.
Get the free PDF guide ↓Allow about 5 to 8.5 hours. You'll travel by seasonal x80 express bus or taxi, then walking in central athens and keep the final 90 minutes free for the return to your ship.
Check your ship's daily program before you go ashore. Your terminal can change how long it takes to reach the first shop.
Akti Miaouli at the eastern cruise harbour
transit: About 35 minutes to central Athens on the seasonal X80
The X80 stops at the cruise-terminal exits and reaches the Acropolis and Syntagma area when its seasonal service is running.
taxi: Allow 30–55 minutes to Kangaroo Craft
Traffic varies sharply. Ask the driver to use Kolokotroni 44 and keep the return pickup easy to describe.
The map pin is digitized from the port's terminal area. Use the terminal letter shown at the gangway.
Akti Xaveriou at the outer cruise harbour
transit: Allow 40–55 minutes to central Athens on the seasonal X80
The X80 starting point moves to the Terminal B area on days when Themistocles is in use.
taxi: Allow 35–60 minutes to Kangaroo Craft
This terminal sits farther around the harbour, so keep a little more time for the road journey.
Terminal B is farther from central Piraeus. Do not begin by walking to the metro unless your ship gives specific directions.
Check the gangway sign for Terminal A or B. If it is still unclear, use the Terminal B travel allowance and ask port staff which X80 stop or taxi rank serves your ship.
Seasonal X80 or taxi
The X80 operates seasonally; check the current timetable before leaving the ship.

Check current visitor informationUse a taxi both ways or take the regular network only if you are comfortable planning the changes. Keep the same return margin.
Choose Kangaroo Craft only and return from Syntagma. Save Yarns.gr in Nea Ionia for a stay in Athens.
Use taxis between the shop and one indoor museum, carry water, and begin the return earlier.

Your ship's daily program and each shop's latest notice take precedence if a berth, timetable, or opening hour changes.
1 yarn shop and 1 craft or textile stop to explore. Piraeus is a major cruise gateway with real yarn-shopping options in central and northern Athens. The practical plan is taxi or metro into the city, not a casual dockside walk.
