Accessibility at Yarn Excursions

The standard we use

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Automated checks are part of every release, and we also test important journeys with a keyboard, at narrow screen sizes, at 200% zoom, and with reduced motion enabled.

Accessibility is an ongoing practice, so this statement describes our target and testing process rather than claiming that every page is perfect in every assistive-technology combination.

What the site supports

• A skip link and visible keyboard focus on interactive controls.
• Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, status messages, and errors.
• A list alternative for map results and text directions for each place.
• Layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling at 200% zoom.
• Respect for reduced-motion and high-contrast preferences.
• Public port guides that do not require an account.

Known limitations

The interactive maps are supplied by third-party mapping software and can be difficult to use with some assistive technology. Every map has a list-based alternative, and each place includes ordinary text links to directions. Third-party shop, map, authentication, payment, and cruise websites have their own accessibility practices.

Port Day Packs are PDFs. We are improving their reading order and document structure; the matching web guide remains the preferred accessible version and contains the same core planning information.
