Shore-day plan

Taxi or rideshare to Madejas in Puerto Nuevo as the anchor yarn stop, then return for Old San Juan browsing. Call Punto Reves before adding it to the route, and save Alonso Sobrino in Bayamón for a long call with a dedicated ride plan.

Distances use the Old San Juan piers (Piers 1–4) on Calle La Marina. Homeport calls that use the Pan American Pier across the bay add taxi time in both directions — recheck the math for your ship.

    Known for: yarn, crochet supplies, knitting classes, embroidery thread

    Weekday hours run 10 AM–4 PM and Friday–Saturday end by 2 PM, which is tight against ship time; verify same-day hours before leaving the pier.

    Plan ahead · 5.0 mi / 8.0 km · A dedicated yarn-shop lead in the Altamira neighborhood; only pair it with Madejas if the shop confirms it is open.

    Known for: yarn, needlework

    The shop's own website is offline and only directory listings back it; call ahead before committing any shore time.

    Plan ahead · 8.0 mi / 12.9 km · A century-old fabric and craft house, now in Bayamón — a dedicated ride-out-and-back, not an Old Town add-on.

    Known for: fabric, craft supplies, jewelry-making, resin and clay

    Open Monday–Saturday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, but note it relocated from Old San Juan to Bayamón; older guides that call it walkable are out of date.
